From April 3 until April 29, the exhibition Relatos de voces olvidadas (Stories of forgotten voices) is on display in the exhibition hall of the Provincial Palace of the Diputación de Jaén. The exhibition is composed of small pieces of sewn or embroidered fabric allusive to the role of women in society with which it is intended to make visible the work they do both in the private and public spheres. It is a collaborative exhibition in which different associations, educational centers and NGOs from different parts of the world have participated.
The María Zambrano school has played a fundamental role in the exhibition by channeling all the contributions received from different countries (from the USA to Kazakhstan), participating with artistic work and collaborating in the curatorship of the exhibition. Specifically, the boys and girls of the 6th grade of this school have investigated between January and April on the life and work of women composers from a STEAM methodology involving numerous areas of the educational curriculum. The work they have presented is part of an investigation that is being carried out during this course 23-24 within the TCIEM project. The participation of the children of CEIP María Zambrano is present in this exhibition in QR code format through which you can listen to several rap, radio theater pieces, interviews (fictitious) to the women composers, etc. In addition, boys and girls have been initiated in textile creation, and have maintained communication with the countries that have wanted to be part of the exhibition.
The opening of the exhibition (April 3) was attended by the Deputy of Culture of the Diputación de Jaén, África Colomo; the former Councilor for Equality and Citizen Participation of the City Council of Jaén (currently in opposition), Eva Funes; the mayor of Alcaudete, Yolanda Caballero and Cristina Vico, cultural manager of the ADR of Sierra Mágina (on behalf of its president); y Mari Paz López-Pelaez Casellas (one of the members of the TCIEM project). The boys and girls of CEIP María Zambrano actively participated in the event, presenting, singing and performing works of their own creation on the piano.
