Inclusive experiences in schools, universities and museums

Last April 2025, the First Conference on Art, Education and Childhood, entitled ‘Integrative experiences in schools, universities and museums’, was held. This conference, which focused on arts education in early childhood and was organised by the University of Zaragoza’s Ars+I: Arts and Childhood Innovation Group, welcomed colleagues from the University of Valladolid, Alicia Peñalba, Pablo Manuel Coca and Lucio Martínez, as speakers at one of the round tables. The teaching innovation group for inclusive early childhood education welcomed colleagues from the University of Valladolid, Alicia Peñalba, Pablo Manuel Coca and Lucio Martínez, as speakers at one of the round tables with a presentation entitled ‘Music, movement and outdoor art installations: Innovating in the training of early childhood education teachers’, directly related to their case study of the TCIEM project.

The teachers who participated in the case study carried out in Zaragoza, together with university professor Rosa M. Serrano, also took part in the afternoon round table discussion on ‘Integrative Educational Experiences’. Likewise, Mercedes Castillo, a professor at the University of Granada, contributed a video account of integrative experiences in art, education and childhood based on her case study carried out for the TCIEM project. It was undoubtedly a very interesting conference, both for the students training for their degree in Early Childhood Education and for all the teachers who attended the event. We hope that new conferences will be held to highlight the importance of inclusive arts education.
