The TCIEM research project (Transversality, Creativity and Inclusion in School Music Projects) is launching a photographic exhibition and a short documentary at the Teaching Centre on the University of Valladolid’s Palencia campus (Sapin), presenting the results of the research carried out. The exhibition brings together images of projects carried out in nursery, primary and secondary schools in various cities across the country, including Zaragoza, Palencia, Valladolid, Jaén, Granada and Barcelona. The works are organised around four key cross-curricular skills: creativity, inclusion, entrepreneurship and digital competence, demonstrating how music has served as a central pillar for the development of meaningful learning.
The TCIEM project has demonstrated significant benefits for both teachers and pupils. Among teaching teams, there has been an improvement in communication and coordination, as well as greater opportunities for shared pedagogical reflection and professional development. Among pupils, the results reflect increased motivation, greater engagement with learning, the strengthening of entrepreneurial skills, critical thinking and creativity, and a notable improvement in social interaction and group cohesion.
The results also show that the development of cross-curricular skills varies according to the stage of education. In Early Childhood and Primary education, creativity is focused on exploration and experimentation, whereas in Secondary education it is more centred on problem-solving and the creation of products. Digital competence features in most projects, particularly in secondary education, and entrepreneurship is manifested through self-management, decision-making and problem-solving. Education for equality and inclusion is addressed by promoting social cohesion in multicultural contexts.
